Padaeng mine has planted vetiver grass for soil and water conservation for 10 consecutive years
Padaeng Industry Public Company Limited, Mae Sod Mine in Tak Province, held an activity of vetiver grass planting for soil and water conservation as His Majesty the King's royal concept for 10 consecutive years, totalling of 1.1 million vetiver grasses, presided by Mr. Wut Sitsurat (3rd from right), Deputy Governor of Tak Province. The activity was joined by about 700 participants consisting of company employees, teachers and students from various schools on 22 June 2012.
The Company used vetiver grass as the cover crop to prevent soil erosion and improve soil quality since 2003. Up to now, a total of 16.5 million vetiver grasses have been planted at the mine, making it one of the largest areas where vetiver grass is grown in Thailand.
