Highlights for the year 2003
- Sales of zinc metal reached 113,941 mt, up 0.08% from 2002
- Domestic sales of zinc metal rose 5%
- Ratio of domestic and export sales stood at 80:20
- Average world zinc price equaled USD 828 per mt, an increase of 6.3% from the average of USD 779 per mt in 2002
- Consolidated net profit of Baht 2,841, while equity method registered net profit of Baht 2.80 million
- Mineral resources total 4,595,000 mt, with a 12.3% zinc content (as of 31 December, 2003)
- Construction of the full-scale Flotation plant completed in December 2003, enabling the transformation of low grade ores into higher quality ores. Production capacity is 60,000 mt annually
- The Smelter awarded certification of ISO 9001:2000 quality standards on January 8, 2003
- The Smelter received certification for a standardized laboratory facility in compliance with standards of ISO/IEC 17025:1999 from the Ministry of Industry on June 14,2003
- The Smelter received the outstanding medium-sized industrial manufacturer award for 2003 labor welfare from the Ministry of Labor on June 26, 2003
- The Calcine plant received recognition for its occupational health and safety management systems by earning the TIS 18001 and OHSAS accreditation from the BVQI on December 12, 2003
- Selected as 1 of 50 top ranked companies for corporate governance among the 234 registered companies in Thailand by the Thai Institute of Directors
