Calcine Plant

While the silicate ore are directly fed to the Tak smelter, the sulphide concentrates must first be transformed into oxides (calcine). This operation of roasting takes place in the Calcine plant situated in the Rayong province. In 2001, the calcine production totalled 131,647 mt. Sulphuric acid, a by-product of this roasting, is recovered as a 98.5% acid grade. In 2001, a quantity of 131,364 mt has been produced.
